Relay First Lap 2025 Registration Challenge

UPDATE! You now have more time to get your team to 7 or more members, as the Registration Challenge has been extended to February 17!
Don’t stop after your #RelayFirstLap – share the Relay spirit with your friends and family! Team Captains should aim to recruit 7 or more members for their 2025 Relay teams, and Event Leadership Teams should strive to boost their participant registration numbers compared to 2024.
Team captain shirts are back! Remember once your team raises $1000 or more, you will receive your exclusive 2025 Team captain t-shirt!
How to Participate
7 team members by February 17!
As a team captain, register your 2025 Relay For Life team and then get 6 additional members to join your team by February 17.
The challenge will run through February 17, 2025 at 11:59pm Eastern Time. All registered participants count, regardless of if they registered before RelayFirstLap on January 11.
Co-captains will also receive the incentive prize as long as they reflect as a captain on the website. 7 participants does include the captain and any co-captains.

Prizes
Team Captains (& co-captains!) who recruit to a total of 7 team members by February 17 will earn an exclusive Relay For Life Team Captain can cooler!
3 qualifying events with the largest year-over-year increase in registered participants will win a chance to have a custom consultation with a Relay expert to discuss options to enhance your event. This could be new signage & inflatables, local film crew to create local assets, games, etc.
We’ll also recognize 3 events with the largest year-over-year growth of survivors registered with a brand new survivor sail banner flag!
How to Qualify
Update: Although the challenge has been extended to end February 17, we are NOT adjusting the baseline numbers.
Events will be split into 3 categories based on their number of registered participants from prior year (2024).
- The top event for year over year growth as of 2/7/2025 in each category will win!
- The top event for year over year grown as of 2/7/2025 in survivor registration in each category will win!
