A cake walk is a fun and tasty way to raise funds! It’s a classic carnival game where participants pay to take a walk around a numbered path, and the person who stops on the winning number gets to take home a delicious cake as a prize.

  1. Promote your event: Use social media, flyers, and word of mouth to attract as many participants as possible. Also, you can consider partnering with local businesses to increase visibility and foot traffic.
  2. Create a numbered path: You can create a path on the ground using chalk or masking tape, or use a large board and number each space.
  3. Obtain prizes: You will need a variety of cakes or other desserts as prizes for the winners. You can bake them yourself or ask local businesses to donate prizes.
  4. Set up a registration table: Have a registration table where participants can pay to take a walk. You can also use this table to collect contact information for future events.
  5. Play lively music: Playing lively music will create a festive atmosphere and encourage participants to join in the fun.
  6. Assign a caller: Have someone call out the numbers as the participants walk around the path, and announce the winner of each round.
  7. Run the event: Once all the participants have registered, have them take a walk around the path while the caller calls out the numbers. The participant that stops on the winning number gets to take home a delicious cake as a prize.
  8. Collect the funds: Collect the funds from the registration table and the event is done.
